Lick, lick, lick and lick, lick ……

Pam CARR asks

“I have a 3yr old female beagle, she has started to lick and chew/bite her front paw – it is like obsessive compulsive behaviour, I cant see any foreign body or lumps/bumps, she does this several times a day – any ideas how to stop this behaviour or ideas why she is doing it?”

She may have a hot spot that you may not be able to see you can go to petsmart and get something for hotspots for dogs

I asked my friend the same question this morning. My 10 yr. old Beagle has been licking and biting his feet for the past couple of weeks. She said he has dew allergies from the wet grass and I should put clear water in a Cool Whip tub and wash his paws off individually when he comes in from outside. Dry each paw very good with dry towel. Don’t put anything in the tub but clear water then rinse the foot off and dry good. I’m hoping this helps my dog and your also.
